How the Maine estimate is modeled
Maine uses a progressive state-income-tax schedule in Wageglass: 3 single-filer rate bands from 5.8% to 7.15%. The single-filer model also includes a modeled single-filer deduction of $15,700 and a modeled single-filer exemption of $5,300. The Maine model includes 2026 standard-deduction and personal-exemption phaseouts and the high-income surcharge; age-based additions are not modeled. Local income taxes, some credits, and special payroll items are not included.
The sample above uses a single filing status and the same annual salary in every state guide, so the estimated state income-tax line can help you compare this model with another state. Open the calculator and choose your state and pay details there; this page does not put sample pay values in the calculator URL.
What this paycheck estimate leaves out
Local income taxes, many state credits and deductions that require additional facts, state disability or paid-leave payroll items, and employer-specific withholding are not included. State schedules are simplified estimates. A real paycheck can differ; this estimate is for general comparison and is not tax advice.
